About

An engineer who builds things that must work.

I work in two disciplines and I do both properly, neither as a sideline. As an analyst with a doctorate in computational modelling and 15 years of experience, I analyse structures that have to hold. As a developer I build automation and custom tools that return hours of manual work to the companies that use them — and at AI workshops I train their teams to build such tools themselves.

Portrait — Aleš Kurfürst

Simulation first. A doctorate in numerical modelling at TU Wien and 15 years of experience in numerical methods — mathematical modelling, strength, fatigue, non-linearity and vibration, in ANSYS and Altair. Four years in academia at TU Wien and six in development at Vaillant Group (Protherm), on components and assemblies that had to pass a physical test, not just a colourful picture.

Continuity, not a restart. Years of work with code, data and demanding technical problems are the foundation that AI builds on naturally. The deliverable is therefore never a presentation about what AI “can do”, but a tool or a system that runs in your company.

A further 5 years of experience come from my own venture: e-commerce sales, food and cosmetics production, production management and business process automation.

15 years
numerical methods in mechanics, mechanical engineering, MATLAB / programming
3 years
AI and automation — since capable AI tools became available
5 years
e-commerce, food and cosmetics production — from my own KONOPÁN and Asterion ventures
