MakeWise is a trade name of the controller. The controller has not appointed a Data Protection Officer, as it is not required to by law.

What data we process

We only process data you provide yourself through the forms on this website:

• Contact form: name, email address and the text of your message.
• Consultation booking: name, email address, the chosen slot and an optional message.
• Technical data: when a form is submitted we briefly process your IP address to protect against abuse (spam, automated submissions).

We do not collect any special categories of data and we carry out no automated decision-making or profiling.

Purpose and legal basis

We process your data for the following purposes and on the following legal basis:

• Handling your enquiry and booking a consultation — legal basis: steps taken at your request prior to entering into a contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR).
• Protecting the site against form abuse — legal basis: our legitimate interest in the security and proper operation of the site (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

Providing your data is voluntary. Without your name and email, however, we cannot contact you or confirm a booking.

Retention period

We keep data only for as long as necessary for the given purpose:

• Inquiries and correspondence are kept until resolved and then for up to 12 months, unless a contractual relationship arises from them.
• Booking and calendar records are kept for as long as needed to hold the consultation and resolve any follow-up.
• If cooperation begins, we follow the retention periods set by specific laws (e.g. accounting and tax records for 10 years).

Once the period expires, we delete or anonymise the data.

Recipients and processors

We do not sell your data. To run the site and communicate we use trusted providers who process data for us as processors:

• Google Ireland Limited — calendar (Google Calendar) and email delivery (Gmail) when booking a consultation.
• Vercel Inc. — website hosting and content delivery.

Some providers may process data outside the EU; in that case the transfer is covered by the EU Standard Contractual Clauses or other appropriate safeguards under the GDPR.

Cookies and analytics

The site uses no tracking or marketing cookies, which is why it shows no cookie banner.

For basic traffic statistics we use analytics that work without cookies and neither build a visitor profile nor identify the visitor.

Your rights

In relation to the processing of your data you have the right:

• to access your data and information about its processing,
• to rectify inaccurate and complete incomplete data,
• to erasure (the “right to be forgotten”) and to restriction of processing,
• to data portability,
• to object to processing based on legitimate interest.

You can exercise any right at ales@makewise.sk. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Slovak Data Protection Authority (Hraničná 12, 820 07 Bratislava, dataprotection.gov.sk).
